In drilling operations, the rotary friction resistance of the drill pipe is called torque. Different geological conditions have different requirements for the lubrication of the drilling fluid. The lubrication performance of the drilling fluid is of great significance for high-quality and rapid drilling. Especially when drilling deep wells, directional wells, horizontal wells or complex formations, it is particularly important. Therefore, studying the drag reduction effect of various additives in drilling fluid is one of the important methods to improve drilling speed and prevent underground accidents.
The whole drilling process is accompanied by friction between the drilling column and the borehole. In particular, the rotation and lifting resistance of the drilling column will be greatly improved when drilling ultra-deep wells, large slope wells and horizontal wells. At this time, the lubrication requirements for drilling fluid are more prominent. Therefore, there are many lubricants, anti-mudge packaging agents, decaving agents, etc. in China, and evaluating the lubrication methods and instruments of these treatment agents and drilling fluids have become an important topic.
This instrument is used to measure the lubrication quality of drilling fluid and provide data for evaluating the types and quantities of lubrication additives that may be needed. During the test, a constant force is applied to the fast friction and friction ring by the torque wrench. Through the reading of the LCD display and calculation accordingly, the lubrication coefficient of the lubricant and the lubrication characteristics of the drilling fluid can be determined.
